Wear Your Values
I dedicate this business to my grandparents, John and Carolyn Reed, who shaped my life through their commitment to education.
Ever since they passed, I’ve wanted to find a way to live their legacy. I see them in myself in small, everyday moments—when I cook for friends, when I look out at the ocean, or when I work in the garden. My grandma was the life of every gathering, always in the kitchen making incredible food and keeping the conversation fun and interesting. My grandpa—“Paw Paw”—was quieter and more thoughtful, but he had this witty sense of humor and always seemed to know exactly when to say the right thing. When he wasn’t working at the hospital, he was happiest on the water: sailing, fishing, and bringing his family along with him. Those are the little pieces of them that live on in me.
But the part of them that sticks out to me the most is their belief in the power of education. From the time I was young, they gently pushed me to dream big—asking about school, about who I wanted to become, about the life I hoped to build. It took me years to understand the full impact of their support, but I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t be a college graduate today without them. Their steady encouragement helped me see education not just as schoolwork, but as a chance to shape your own future.
That’s why, in their honor, a portion of the proceeds from my jewelry goes toward expanding educational opportunities for at-risk kids here in Hawaiʻi. It’s my way of passing on the same gift they gave me.
One thing I love most about jewelry is the meaning behind each piece. Ask anyone about something they wear every day and they’ll tell you a story: a ring set with their mother’s diamond, a necklace that reminds them of someone they’ve lost, a wedding band that symbolizes a lifelong promise. Jewelry holds memory, intention, and love—it becomes part of who we are.
That’s what “Wear Your Values” means to me. I want every piece I make to do more than look beautiful. I want it to make a difference and to be something you’re proud to wear. When you purchase a piece from me, you’re not just buying jewelry—you’re helping give a child access to education, guidance, and opportunity. And who knows, you might be the difference in someone’s life, the same way my grandparents were in mine.
Continuing Their Legacy, Here in Hawaiʻi
To carry that legacy forward, I’ve chosen to partner with After-School All-Stars Hawaiʻi, an incredible organization that services local kids by giving them safe, enriching, and inspiring spaces after school all throughout O'ahu and the Big Island.
ASAS Hawaiʻi offers free programs that include homework help, mentoring, arts, sports, wellness, leadership building, and hands-on learning—exactly the kind of support system that can transform a child’s future. After-school hours are some of the most vulnerable times for young people, and ASAS fills them with structure, care, and opportunity.
By supporting their work, we’re strengthening the fabric of our community. Education doesn’t just shape individual futures—it uplifts families, neighborhoods, and the islands we all call home. My grandparents believed in investing in the people around them, and partnering with ASAS Hawaiʻi feels like a natural extension of that belief. Thank you for being part of this journey. When you choose to “Wear Your Values,” you’re joining a community of people who care—about Hawaiʻi, about our keiki, and about leaving things better than we found them. Together, we’re helping build a future where more children have the support, guidance, and opportunities they deserve.
